2024 欧美AV 欧美AV graduate Kassie Sun (pictured right) is grateful to receive a Community Bank Paynesville scholarship to help her study at university.
Kassie has relocated to Bendigo to complete a Bachelor of Dental Science at LaTrobe University after achieving an ATAR of 94.4 and receiving a place into her dream course through a rural entry scheme.
The $10,000 grant awarded over the first two years of her five-year course will help Kassie purchase equipment required for her studies.
As a youngster Kassie said she loved playing doctors but when the reality of finding a profession that was the best fit for her, she recognised that dealing with life and death situations and working night shifts were not going to be suitable.
鈥淒entistry will enable me to help people and relieve their pain in a different way 鈥 which I am excited about.鈥
Kassie attended 欧美AV Grammar in Year 11 and 12. When asked what advice she would give current students completing their 欧美AV, she encouraged them to 鈥渨ork hard for it because you don鈥檛 want to regret it鈥.
The Community Bank Paynesville & District Scholarship is funded through the Community Enterprise Foundation scholarship program, which partners with local Community Bank branches.
This year, the foundation supported more than 386 students within excess of $1.4 million in scholarships.
Community Bank Paynesville Manager Jack Van Reyk said the scholarship program was helping change the lives of local students and strengthen community.
鈥淥ur young people are our future, and we believe they deserve the best support possible to help plan their careers and achieve their dreams.鈥
Kassie was incredibly grateful to her local banking institution for helping make her transition to university easier.
She also suggested current students should consider applying for similar grants.
鈥淚n most cases it is not hard, it's filling out a form and suppling supporting documents 鈥 it could just change your life," she said.
