As we conclude Å·ÃÀAV 1, I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to all our students for their remarkable achievements and for starting the year on such a positive note. It is truly pleasing to see our students embodying our CLERR values and serving as positive role models within our community. This end of term has been filled with numerous events and accomplishments, and I am delighted to share some highlights with you:
SEISA Swimming
Our students travelled to Melbourne to compete against other SEISA schools in a highly-competitive environment. Despite the high standard of competition, we are proud to have finished third overall. Special mentions go to our four age-champions: Sophie Arnup (Under 13 girls), Cooper Sampson (Under 14 boys), Zaydn Burton (Under 16 boys), and Ruby Paulet (Under 17 girls). Well done to all our swimmers for their dedication and hard work!
SEISA Table Tennis
Our Table Tennis teams produced outstanding results, finishing first overall. Special congratulations to our Senior and Intermediate teams, who both secured first place in their respective divisions. Your commitment and teamwork have truly paid off.
Rowing
The end of the 2024/2025 rowing season has been highly successful for our teams. At the recent Head of School Girls Regatta in Geelong, our Senior Girls team took home the Female School Coxed Quad Scull Open Division 1 event for the second year in a row. This same team also achieved outstanding results at Nationals, winning Gold in the Schoolgirl's Coxed Quadruple Scull Sprint and Bronze in the Schoolgirl's Coxed Quadruple Scull. We are equally proud of our boys who competed at Nationals, as well as the Scotch Mercantile and Junior/Intermediate State Rowing Championships. A huge congratulations to Mr. Bartlett, our rowing coaches, and all our rowing students for their exceptional efforts.
Year 9 Camp at Falls Creek
Despite weather challenges and the need to relocate our camp twice, our Year 9 students had a highly successful experience at Falls Creek. They spent three days in a pristine environment with perfect weather, extending their hiking and camp craft skills. The students were outstanding, working collaboratively to overcome various challenges. A highlight for the Year 9 students was experiencing a solo camp in the snow gum region. Well done to all involved!
SEISA Visual Arts Day We also had the pleasure of hosting the SEISA Visual Arts Day, which was a huge success. It was thoroughly enjoyable to observe our students engaging in a range of art modalities, and I was highly impressed with the level of talent and skill on display. This event was a remarkable opportunity for our art students, and I extend a huge thanks to Ms Leah Murphy and our Art & Design team for their efforts in running this event.
As we head into the upcoming break, I encourage our students to take this time to reflect on the term that has passed, identify new goals, and prepare themselves for a successful term ahead. I wish all members of our community a restful and enjoyable break, and I look forward to seeing you all after Easter.
